Former All-Ohio Valley Conference honoree Hannah Phillips is in her second season as director of volleyball operations at her alma mater in 2021.
Hailing from Orient, Ohio, Phillips starred from 2016-19 as she was head coach Jaclynn Wilson’s first four-year player at UT Martin. She played in 101 matches in that span, piling up 597 kills (1.75 per set) on a .199 hitting percentage, 401 digs, 142 blocks, 37 service aces and 34 assists.
          Â
Phillips set career-highs in kills (295, 2.40 per set), attack percentage (.229), service aces (18) and blocks (62) as a junior, becoming just the fourth player in Skyhawk history to secure All-OVC second team accolades. She was voted to the Preseason All-OVC squad going into the 2019 season, where she registered two of her three career double-doubles on her way to scooping up a career-best 206 digs.
          Â
In addition to her indoor volleyball success, Phillips is also the longest-tenured beach volleyball player in school history. She has played 51 of her 59 career matches at the No. 1 slot and intends to complete her student-athlete eligibility in that sport this upcoming spring. Despite the fact that the 2020-21 campaign was abbreviated, she helped UT Martin to a school record 10 victories and an appearance in the OVC Championship finals while earning OVC All-Tournament accolades.
          Â
Off the court, Phillips was a four-time OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll recipient. She graduated from UT Martin in 2020 with a degree in marketing and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in strategic communication.
