PRIOR TO UTM: Transferred from Jacksonville State where he pitched 8.2 innings with five strikeouts in 12 appearances… Spent two years at Three Rivers Community College in Poplar Bluff, Missouri…as a sophomore in 2023, Gast played in 12 games, three starts with a 2-3 record and a complete game…threw 21.1 innings, allowing 19 runs, 16 earned, and 3 homeruns…struck out 32 batters for a K/9 of 13,50….in 2022, Gast appeared in 12 games, started four, and posted a 2-3 record…pitched 33.0 innings, allowing 33 runs, 26 earned, and three homeruns…struck out 36 batters for a K/9 of 9.82… prepped at Notre Dame Regional High School in Cape Girardeau, Missouri…coached by Jeff Graviett…was ranked the ninth-best third baseman in the state of Missouri.
