MARTIN, Tenn.- The University of Tennessee at Martin baseball team fell to North Alabama in the midweek contest 21-3 at Skyhawk Field.

JT Popick (two RBIs, double) and Andrew Lawrence led UT Martin (18-18) in hits with two apiece. Colten Payton drew three walks while TJ Grines, Andrew Davis (run scored), Cameron Greene (run scored) and Tommy Koch notched hits for the Skyhawks.

JP Nunn started the game with two innings pitched while Silas Jones (0-1), Drake Bayles (0.2 innings, one strikeout), Dean McCalla (one inning), Zach Wager (1.1 innings, no hits allowed, no runs allowed, one strikeout) Trevor Busyn (one inning) and Gehrig Wright (one inning, no hits, no runs, two strikeouts) made relief appearances.

UT Martin took the lead away from North Alabama (18-18) in the home half of the first from a Greene infield single and a Popick double to the corner in right field. Nunn pitched a scoreless second frame off a ground out to first and a 4-6-3 double play to keep the Skyhawks in front.

The Lions regained the lead in the next inning and built upon their advantage. Wager entered in the top of the fourth and pitched 1.1 no-hit innings and in the seventh Wright recorded a 1-2-3 frame from two strikeouts and a groundout.

UT Martin heads to Evansville, Ind. to start a three-game Ohio Valley Conference series against Southern Indiana on Friday, April 17 at 6 p.m.
