UT Martin Soars To A Pair Of Wins To Begin OVC Weekend At Chattanooga

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Two wins were in store for the University of Tennessee at Martin beach volleyball squad today as the Skyhawks downed Ohio Valley Conference rivals Morehead State (4-1) and Eastern Illinois (5-0) at the UTC Sports Complex.
Three UT Martin pairs went unbeaten today as Kayla Bryant/Reagan McGee (No. 2), Luli Arcucci/Lauren Mariscal (No. 3) and Andie Kryak/Amara Traiger (No. 4) all went 2-0. Kristin Phillips also went 2-0 at No. 5 with partners Bella Heyne (against Morehead State) and MC Rehm (against Eastern Illinois). The No. 1 Skyhawk duo of Riley Rushing/Dylan Sulcer made it 11 UT Martin players to claim a victory today when they emerged victorious against Eastern Illinois.
Heyne/Phillips got the Skyhawks (8-3, 2-1 OVC) on the scoreboard against the Eagles this morning with a 21-9, 23-21 triumph as they improved to 2-0 on the season together. Kryak/Traiger followed with a 23-21, 18-21, 15-11 victory before Bryant/McGee clinched the win with a 21-15, 18-21, 15-10 triumph. Arcucci/Mariscal pitched in a 16-21, 21-15, 15-11 victory before Rushing/Sulcer fell 21-14, 21-10. As a result, UT Martin handed Morehead State (4-10, 2-1 OVC) its first league loss of the spring.
Against the Panthers, Kryak/Traiger was first to tally a win after a 21-13, 21-16 decision – picking up their seventh victory of the season in the process. Phillips/Rehm posted a 21-16, 21-16 triumph for their sixth win of the spring while Arcucci/Mariscal delivered the clincher with a 21-19, 21-15 decision, earning their seventh victory of 2026. Rushing/Sulcer got back on track with their ninth win of the season courtesy of a 21-17, 21-16 triumph before Bryant/McGee completed the sweep behind a 18-21, 21-12, 15-11 victory – their ninth as a duo so far this spring.
The Skyhawks are back in action tomorrow as they square off against OVC foes Lindenwood (1 p.m. CT) and Tennessee Tech (5 p.m. CT).
