MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin soccer team continues Ohio Valley Conference play Sunday at Skyhawk Soccer Field against Lindenwood at 6 p.m.
In their OVC opener last week, the Skyhawks battled Southern Indiana on the road to a 0-0 draw, their sixth of the season. Fifth-year goalkeeper made six saves en route to her second consecutive OVC Goalkeeper of the Week honor and third this season.
Allie Carroll, Addy McCleary and Unni Wolf lead UT Martin this season with two goals each, Peyton Cook leads the team in assists with three. The shutout was the fourth of the season for Titus, who leads the OVC in goals-against average (0.75) and save percentage (85.0).
After a sound 3-0 win over Morehead State in its conference opener, Lindenwood enters Sunday's contest at 5-4-2 overall. Mackenzie Compton has been a huge part of the Lions' offense this season with team highs of four goals, two assists and 25 shots. Like Titus, Lindenwood goalkeeper Caroline Ritter has played every minute of every game between the posts for her team. She currently allows 1.00 goals per game and has saved 76.6 percent of shots.
Since Lindenwood joined the league in 2022, the two teams have split the previous four matches, leaving the series tied, 2-2-0. In an odd twist, UT Martin's wins, including a 4-2 victory last season, have come in St. Charles, while Lindenwood's wins have been in Martin.
In OVC standings, the Lions, SIUE and Southeast Missouri sit at the top after earning three points for winning their respective league openers, while Morehead State, Eastern Illinois and Western Illinois sit at the bottom after opening-day losses. The Skyhawks and Southern Indiana sit squarely between the two trios, with each earning one point from last Sunday's draw.
Sunday's match will be broadcast on ESPN+ with play-by-play from Davis Gregory and analysis from Kyle Jones.
