MARTIN, Tenn.- The University of Tennessee at Martin baseball team fell 11-1 in Game 2 of the weekend series to Southern Indiana at Skyhawk Field.

Brody Capps (double, RBI), Garner Anderson (walk, run scored), Blaze Bell, JT Popick (walk), Jonah Katsaboulas (walk) and Tommy Koch had base knocks for UT Martin (17-28, 8-11 Ohio Valley Conference).

Zach Wager (5-6, two strikeouts) started the game for the Skyhawks and threw four innings. Brandon King (four innings pitched, four strikeouts, no walks allowed) and Shawn Perez (one inning pitched, two strikeouts, no earned runs, no walks) pitched out of the bullpen.

UT Martin responded to an early strike by Southern Indiana (21-25, 10-10 OVC) with an RBI double by Brody Capps in the bottom of the first. A single would be all the Screaming Eagles could come up with in the second after Wager retired three straight batters to end the frame.

Wager was able to strand two base runners on a foul out, flyout and line out in the fourth. King worked a scoreless sixth from a pick off at first base and two punchouts. Southern Indiana added runs in the next three innings to extend its advantage and force the rubber match.

The Skyhawks will reset and get ready for the series finale tomorrow at 1 p.m. on ESPN+.
