Â
Lindenwood got on the board in the home half and made it a one-run game. UT Martin had a response prepared in the form of a double steal play that brought Capps in to make it 5-3 in the sixth. Sitton sat down the Lions in order in the bottom part of the frame with two punchouts and a groundout to keep the Skyhawks in front.
Â
Lindenwood would take the lead in the home half of the seventh, but Baskin kept it a one-run game after he induced a flyout, pop out and strikeout in the eighth. Down to its final three outs, UT Martin put the tying run on base but was unable to extend the game.
Â
The Skyhawks finish the year 20-34 overall and 11-14 in conference play while making it to a Division I school-record third straight postseason appearance.
