
Bryant/O’Keefe Sets School Single-Season Pair Wins Record As UT Martin Extends Winning Streak To Nine

MOREHEAD, Ky. – The University of Tennessee at Martin's No. 2 duo of Kayla Bryant/Olivia O'Keefe shattered the program record for most single-season victories today at the OVC Weekend at Morehead State. The Skyhawks knocked off Lindenwood by a 5-0 margin this morning before managing a 3-2 triumph over Tennessee Tech in their second match of the day.
Bryant and O'Keefe won their 10th and 11th consecutive decisions today, improving to 25-5 on the season. The victory against Tennessee Tech broke the previous UT Martin record of 24 single-season wins by a pair, previously set by O'Keefe/Kambree Lucas (2023) and Kayla Carrell/Addison Conley (2022).
In addition to Bryant/O'Keefe, the Skyhawks' No. 3 pairing of Lauren Mariscal/Jenna Vallée (both clinchers) and No. 4 duo of Sydney Eckhardt/Reagan McGee each went 2-0 today. UT Martin's No. 1 tandem of Riley Rushing/Dylan Sulcer and No. 5 pairing of Dylan Mott/Kylie Surratt also tacked on victories during the opening match of the day.
Eckhardt/McGee were the first winners of the day, scoring a come-from-behind 18-21, 21-10, 15-10 victory against Lindenwood. Mott/Surratt soon improved to 7-0 on the season with a hard-fought 21-18, 15-21, 15-11 victory. Mariscal/Vallée marched to a straight-set 21-11, 21-16 win for the clinching point before Rushing/Sulcer collected their 15th victory together this spring courtesy of a 22-20, 21-12 decision. Closing out the Skyhawk sweep was Bryant/O'Keefe, who churned out a 21-14, 17-21, 15-7 triumph.

After UT Martin briefly trailed 2-1 in the match, Bryant/O'Keefe dialed up a 21-18, 21-17 win to set the stage for the Skyhawks to claim the matchup at the No. 3 slot. Mott/Surratt (lost 18-21, 21-16, 17-15) and Rushing/Sulcer (lost 21-17, 13-21, 15-13) put forth great efforts but were outlasted in marathon three-set decisions.
