
Skyhawks Claim Several APHA NCEA And ECAC All-Academic Honors

WACO, Texas – The awards keep filing in for the University of Tennessee at Martin program as a total of 22 Skyhawk riders combined for 37 spots on the National Collegiate Equestrian Association's APHA All-Academic list as well as the Eastern College Athletic Conference All-Academic team.
The NCEA created the All-Academic program to recognize student-athletes for their success both in the arena and in the classroom. Four APHA All-Academic teams were revealed as all riders must have maintained full-time enrollment in the previous spring and fall semesters, respectively, to earn a spot on the lists.
Chalking up APHA All-Academic and ECAC All-Academic first team accolades was Gabby Adams, Elizabeth Becker, Kate Davis, Lillian Laney, Emerson Maier, Aubrey Malone, Elise Mason, Kate Mills and Logan Putvinski. This group must have competed in a minimum of 70 percent of their school's meets (not including demo or exhibition rides) and earned a cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.5.
Lexi Bailey, Mia McAfoos, Bridget Vieau and Rileigh Weiss were each named to the APHA All-Academic and ECAC All-Academic second team. In order to qualify for this list, a rider must compete in a minimum of 60 percent of their school's meets (not including demo or exhibition rides) and a cumulative 3.25 GPA.
Two UT Martin representatives were placed on the APHA All-Academic and ECAC All-Academic honorable mention list. Lydia Jordan and Ava Newsom were part of that group, who must have competed in a minimum of 50 percent of their school's meets (not including demo or exhibition rides) and posted a cumulative 3.0 GPA.
A total of 22 Skyhawks garnered APHA Honor Roll and ECAC All-Academic accolades, which requires a cumulative 3.25 GPA. That list includes Adams, Bailey, Reese Barrett, Becker, Stevie Brown, Claire Carpenter, Davis, Jordan, Laney, Maier, Malone, Mason, McAfoos, Mills, Audrey Morris, Newsom, Putvinski, Marley Rizzi, Vieau, Weiss, Ellie Wilburn and Olivia Wynn.
