UT Martin Rounds Out OVC Weekend With Two More Home Victories

MARTIN, Tenn. – A stretch of six consecutive home matches ended on a high note for the University of Tennessee at Martin beach volleyball squad, who breezed through the competition for a pair of Ohio Valley Conference victories today. The Skyhawks swept Lindenwood by a 5-0 margin before handing Tennessee Tech a 4-1 setback to cap off a 5-1 homestand.

All 12 players who saw playing time for UT Martin today recorded a win. The Skyhawk pairings of Dylan Mott/Jenna Vallée, Kayla Bryant/Olivia O'Keefe and Sydney Eckhardt/Reagan McGee each went 2-0 on the day while Riley Rushing/Dylan Sulcer (playing at No. 1 for the first time this season) and alternating No. 5 teams of Lauren Mariscal/Kristin Phillips and Ryan Rednour/Kylie Surratt were also spotlighted as winners this afternoon.

In a rematch of last season's OVC Championship semifinals, UT Martin defeated Lindenwood in a dominant display. Eckhardt/McGee got the Skyhawks on the scoreboard first, winning 21-9, 21-13 out of the No. 4 position in the lineup. Lauren Mariscal made her collegiate debut today, teaming up with Kristin Phillips to claim a 21-15, 22-20 victory at No. 5. Kayla Bryant/Olivia O'Keefe clinched the team win with a convincing 21-10, 21-8 triumph at No. 3 while Mott/Vallée (21-15, 21-16 at No. 2) and Rushing/Sulcer (17-21, 21-15, 15-12 at No. 1) provided two more points today.

Eckhardt/McGee shifted to 13-0 as a pair in 2025 after a 21-9, 21-2 victory to start the scoring against Tennessee Tech. Rednour/Surratt followed with a 21-5, 21-17 win before Bryant/O'Keefe managed their second consecutive match-clincher via a 21-10, 21-8 triumph at No. 2, giving O'Keefe her 50^th career win in a UT Martin uniform. Mott/Vallee was responsible for the Skyhawks' fourth and final win of the evening matchup with a 21-19, 21-12 decision at No. 3.

The Skyhawks (12-6, 3-1 OVC) will head across the state next Saturday, March 29 for a pair of matches. UT Martin will take on OVC foe Chattanooga on its home court at 10 a.m. CT before facing Tusculum in a neutral-site test at noon CT.
