DANBURY, Conn. – Elizabeth Becker and Logan Putvinski, both senior standouts on the University of Tennessee at Martin equestrian team, were named Riders of the Week by the Eastern College Athletic Conference today. Becker received that title in fences while Putvinski nabbed the honor in reining.
Today's announcement marks the third ECAC Rider of the Week accolade for Becker in 2024-25 (also winning on Oct. 22 and Oct. 29) while Putvinski picks up her second ECAC Rider of the Week honor as she additionally received this award on Oct. 8.
Becker and Putvinski combined for three Skyhawk points at No. 7 South Carolina as UT Martin battled until the bitter end before an 11-7 setback took place last Saturday.
A Grosse Pointe, Mich. native, Becker produced a score of 80 points at South Carolina to defeat her counterpart by a 15-point margin. That performance was good enough for her team-best seventh win of the season in that event.
Putvinski also retained her team lead in wins last Saturday, securing her 10th head-to-head triumph of the 2024-25 campaign with a 75.5-point ride. The Knoxville, Tenn. product bested her opponent by six points.
In addition to wins, Becker also tops the Skyhawks in scoring average (82.0) in fences while tying for the team lead with one MOP (against UC Davis on Oct. 18). Putvinski has emerged victorious in all but two meets this season and also earned one MOP medal (against then-No. 10 Fresno State on Oct. 5).
Next up for UT Martin is the 2025 ECAC Championships as the Skyhawks will host the five-team tournament on March 27-29 at the Ned McWherter Agricultural Complex.
