Upcoming Rodeo Hosted By Murray State Postponed

MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin's scheduled rodeo this week at Murray State has been postponed due to the outbreak of Equine Herpesvirus (EHV-1), Murray State and Ozark Region officials announced today.
This week's event – originally scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 20 through Saturday, Nov. 22 – is the latest in several postponed rodeos across the nation.
"We are taking the proper precautions to keep our horses and all of those who would have competed at these events safe and healthy," a statement read from the Murray State rodeo program. "Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of those who have been impacted by this outbreak. We will reschedule these events when it has been declared safe for all of the horses participating."
This rodeo was set to be the Ozark Region fall finale as the Skyhawks had previously competed at Missouri Valley College (Sept. 18-20), West Alabama (Sept. 25-27), Southern Arkansas (Oct. 9-11) and Arkansas-Monticello (Oct. 16-18).
With a Murray State tentative rescheduling pending, UT Martin's next rodeo will take place on March 12-14 at East Mississippi Community College.
