Cook Named OVC Offensive Player of the Week

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Junior Peyton Cook of the University of Tennessee at Martin soccer team has been named as the OVC Offensive Player of the Week. Cook is the first Skyhawk to be named OVC Offensive Player of the Week since Brooke Kala in 2021.

The Milford, Ohio native scored two goals and had one assist in UT Martin's 5-1 win over SIUE Sunday. Cook scored the first goal of the match in the fifth minute, then capped the scoring for the Skyhawks with another goal in the 74th minute. She also assisted on a goal in the 52nd minute. She finished the match with six shots, placing five on frame.

The Skyhawks will play their first match of the 2025 OVC Women's Soccer Championship Thursday at 3 p.m. at Lindenwood, as the sixth seed, in a rematch with SIUE, the seventh seed. The winner of the match will take on third-seeded Lindenwood Sunday at 1 p.m.
