
UT MARTIN RETAINS NO. 8 RANKING IN NATIONAL COLLEGIATE EQUESTRIAN ASSOCIATION POLL

WACO, Texas – There were no changes in this week's National Collegiate Equestrian Association rankings as the University of Tennessee at Martin stayed at No. 8.
TCU kept its No. 1 ranking and was followed by No. 2 Texas A&M, No. 3 SMU, No. 4 Georgia, No. 5 South Carolina, No. 6 Auburn, No. 7 Oklahoma State, the No. 8 Skyhawks, No. 9 UC Davis and No. 10 Delaware State. Today's announcement marks the 17th consecutive week that UT Martin has been represented in the national top-10 poll in 2023-24.
The Skyhawks closed out their regular season last Friday with a dominant 18-1 home win over Minnesota-Crookston. UT Martin swept the fences and horsemanship events and was also unbeaten in reining with a 4-0-1 mark while adding four victories in flat.
On an individual front, the Skyhawks claimed all four MOP's with Kate Mills (fences), Sophia Sundem (flat), Mia McAfoos (horsemanship) and Kate Davis (reining) achieving those honors.
In addition to the MOP's, Elizabeth Becker, Sydney Hott, Gabby Adams and Haley Kane posted victories in fences while Hott, Becker and Kane managed wins in flat. On the Western side, Ava Newsom, Lexi Bailey, Emma Schaefer and Davis generated head-to-head victories in horsemanship while Logan Putvinski, Schaefer and Aubrey Malone collected wins in reining.
The postseason is right around the corner as UT Martin makes a trip out to Davis, Calif. for the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championship event on March 25-27.
