DANBURY, Conn. – For the second straight month, the University of Tennessee at Martin equestrian program boasts the Eastern College Athletic Conference Standout Student-Athlete of the Month as Aubrey Malone brought home that honor today.
Malone joins teammate Bridget Vieau as Skyhawks to win that award in 2024-25 as Vieau was spotlighted with the accolade in October.
A senior from Fayetteville, Tenn., Malone is majoring in mass media and strategic communications at UT Martin. She has secured National Collegiate Equestrian Association All-Academic first team honors in each of the last two seasons and is a three-time OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll recipient.
Outside of the arena, Malone works with NRHA at their major shows, working her way up from a management intern into the organization's media team. She has authored several human interest stories, interviewed exhibitors from around the world and conducted live interviews on local television stations to promote events. She also is on the Skyhawk equestrian social media committee, shooting and editing photos not only of her teammates at home and away meets but also photographing all UT Martin Athletics events as a member of the Skyhawk sports information staff.
Malone has helped UT Martin claim a No. 9 ranking in the latest edition of the NCEA top-10 poll. Competing exclusively in reining, she has earned four victories this season – including an MOP performance against South Dakota State on Nov. 15. The team captain has been a mainstay in the Skyhawk reining lineup in her four-year career, making 39 starts with 14 head-to-head wins and three MOP's.
