UT MARTIN RIFLE TO HOST UAB TOMORROW; MATCH AGAINST MEMPHIS MOVED TO JAN. 28

MARTIN, Tenn. – The home opener for the University of Tennessee at Martin rifle squad is set for tomorrow at 9 a.m. as UAB will visit Skyhawk Rifle Range.
In a corresponding announcement, UT Martin's matchup against Memphis – originally scheduled to take place this Sunday, Jan. 21 – has been postponed until Jan. 28. That match will also take place at 9 a.m.
The Skyhawks are coming off their spring opener last Sunday, taking on nationally ranked Georgia Southern in Murray, Ky. UT Martin collected 4,617 aggregate points – tallying 2,332 points in air rifle and a score of 2,285 in smallbore. Alayna Walther was responsible for team-high scoring in aggregate (1,170), air rifle (592) and smallbore (578) while Joey Kovach (586 in air rifle) and Aubrey Summers (574 in smallbore) each set career-highs in their respective events.
Walther's 589 scoring average in air rifle leads the way for UT Martin and is followed by Nick Fares (585), Kovach (579), Summers (575), Jeffrey Bourassa (572) and Jesse Chamberlain (566). In smallbore, Walther tops the squad with a 582 scoring average while Kovach (577), Fares (577), Chamberlain (559), Summers (555) and Bourassa (553) follow.
Tomorrow marks at least the 16th straight year that the Skyhawks have hosted UAB as UT Martin has won three of the last four decisions. To view live targets and live scoring from Saturday's match, click on the link above.
