MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin's No. 3 beach volleyball duo of Logan Wallick and Haeleigh Paulino extended their undefeated streak to eight matches today but unfortunately those were the only Skyhawk head-to-head to wins as Austin Peay claimed a pair of 4-1 decisions.

A little over 24 hours after Wallick and Paulino were crowned as Ohio Valley Conference Pair of the Week for the first time in UT Martin history, the duo continued rolling. In the first match of the day, they breezed through a 21-13, 21-9 victory over Kelsey Mead and Tegan Seyring. Soon thereafter in the double dual finale, they posted their eighth victory in a row to start the 2021 campaign with a 21-19, 21-14 triumph once again over Mead and Seyring.

The Skyhawks (4-4, 3-3 OVC) had their chances throughout both matches but ultimately fell in a pair of tiebreaking third sets in both ends of the double dual.

In the first matchup of the day, Addison Conley/Jessica Reynolds (21-16, 16-21, 15-13) and Baillie Kearns/Kambree Lucas (21-19, 11-21, 15-10) left it all on the court for UT Martin but fell at No. 4 and No. 5, respectively.

The Skyhawks' No. 2 squad of Kayla Carrell/Karen Scanlon were defeated by a slim 22-20, 21-18 margin while Lucy Kaufman/Hannah Phillips fell 21-14, 21-15 at No. 1.

Conley and Reynolds played their second marathon match of the day in the backend of the double dual, falling 21-19, 17-21, 15-7 at No. 4. Kaufman and Phillips got off to a good start at No. 1 but fell victim to a Governor comeback in a 17-21, 21-14, 15-7 setback.

At No. 5, Kearns/Lucas battled but fell 21-16, 22-20 while Carrell/Scanlon were defeated by a 21-14, 21-16 margin in the No. 2 slot.

UT Martin wraps up the regular season this weekend when it heads to Richmond, Ky. for its second consecutive four-matches-in-two-days tournament. The Skyhawks will square off against Chattanooga (8 a.m.) and event host Eastern Kentucky (12 p.m.) on Saturday, April 24 before taking on Jacksonville State (7 a.m.) and Morehead State (11 a.m.) on Sunday, April 25.
