CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin soccer team picked up its first road victory of the season off the foot of sophomore Hendrikje Baurmann who tallied a pair of goals to lift the Skyhawks to a 2-0 Ohio Valley Conference victory at Austin Peay.

The Skyhawks (4-4-4, 2-1-1 OVC) saw Baurmann put the team on the board and never look back with goals in the 29th and 31st minutes. The goals were the third and fourth of her season while pushing her total in league play up to three.

UT Martin would outshoot Austin Peay by a final tally of 8-4 in the contest while Baurmann led the team with four shots on goal. Joining in the action was the trio of Catey Hunt, Nicole Collins and Bella Roberts with shots on goal.

Junior goalkeeper Erica Myers was perfect in goal once again, tallying two saves while recording her fourth shutout of the season and third in OVC play. For her career, Myers has now posted 12 shutouts which rank second in program history.

Austin Peay (1-6-3, 0-2-1 OVC) tallied four shots on the afternoon, including two on goal by Abigail Gemza and Claire Larose. In goal, Mary Parker Powell allowed a pair of goals in the first half while Peyton Powell played a scoreless second half.

UT Martin will return to action on Sunday, Oct. 6 when playing host to OVC foe SIUE. The game is scheduled to get underway at 2 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
