UT MARTIN GOLF TO HOST 13TH ANNUAL SKYHAWK FALL CLASSIC AT PARIS LANDING STATE PARK

MARTIN, Tenn. – For the 13th consecutive year, the University of Tennessee at Martin golf program will play host to the Skyhawk Fall Classic, which will once again be held at Paris Landing State Park in Buchanan, Tenn. on Sept. 30-Oct. 1.
This year's field includes 14 teams and approximately 85 players from 13 different universities. Joining UT Martin in the 2019 event is Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Bethel (two teams), Butler, Cumberland, Eastern Illinois, John A. Logan, Missouri Baptist, Murray State (two teams), Rend Lake, Tennessee State and Union. In addition, three individuals from Austin Peay will also compete in the tournament.
A practice round is set for Sunday, Sept. 29 before the 54-hole stroke play tournament begins the next morning. The event officially begins with an 8 a.m. shotgun start on Monday. Sept. 30 with the second round following later that afternoon. The third and final round is scheduled to tee off on Tuesday, Oct. 1 with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
The par-72 Paris Landing State Park golf course plays at 6,685 yards. Built in 1971, the course is located just off US Highway 79 and is one of the signature courses of the Tennessee State Park System and the Tennessee Golf Trail.
Monday's forecast calls for mostly sunny skies, a high of 95 degrees, low of 69 degrees, 5 mph southwest winds and a 10 percent chance of precipitation. Tuesday's forecast calls for mostly sunny skies, a high of 95 degrees, low of 70 degrees and 6 mph southwest winds.
The Skyhawks are off to a hot start in 2019-20, winning or earning runner-up honors in each of their first three tournaments. UT Martin is coming off a victory at the SIUE Derek Dolenc Invitational on Sept. 23-24 and currently leads the Ohio Valley Conference with a 281.4 team scoring average.
Individually, Jack Story boasts the best stroke average (68.8) in the OVC as he has won two of the three OVC Player of the Week awards to begin the season. Ross Redmont's 70.3 scoring average is tied for third in the league while Tate Chumley (71.8), Mason Chandler (71.9) and Nick Wolf (72.1) also rank in the league's top-25.
The freshman trio of Bryson Morrell (74.3), Jacob Uehlein (74.4) and Luke Smith (75.0) have also showed positive signs during the fall, as all three will be in action at the Skyhawk Fall Classic.
