UT Martin Co-Leads SIUE Dolenc Invitational As Harmon Ranks Fifth Through 36 Holes

MADISON, Ill. – The University of Tennessee at Martin golf squad went low today in each of the first two rounds of the SIUE Dolenc Invitational, shooting 19-under par to tie atop the standings at Gateway National.
The Skyhawks shot a 275 (-9) during this morning's first round and followed that with a 274 (-10) this afternoon. The cumulative 549 (-19) is tied with Idaho for first place by a single stroke in the 17-team field. UT Martin leads the tournament in fewest bogeys (22) and par-4 scoring (3.98, -2) while ranking second in pars (113), second in par-3 scoring (3.02, +1), third in birdies (40) and third in par-5 scoring (4.63, -15).
Sophomore Bryce Harmon led the charge for the Skyhawks today as his 136 (-6) ranks fifth in the 100-man field. The Knoxville, Tenn. native began his day with a career-best 65 that included a remarkable eight birdies. He later carded an even-par 71 that included one birdie and one eagle in Round 2. He ranks 10th in the field in par-5 scoring (4.38, -5) heading into tomorrow's final round.
Following Harmon in Round 1 was Regan Kueker (69 with six birdies), Lucas Herring (69 with four birdies) and Drew Williams (72 with one birdie). The duo of Kueker (five birdies, one eagle) and Herring (five birdies) each shot career-best 68's in Round 2 and was followed by Williams (69, three birdies) and Grant Phillips (69 with four birdies, shaving five shots off his first-round tally).
Taking part in the tournament as an individual, Conner Hill wrapped up his day with a career-best 69 that included four birdies. That came after a 78 with two birdies in Round 1.
Kueker and Herring are each tied for 13th place in the player standings with matching 137's (-5). Kueker ranks third in the field in par-3 scoring (2.80, -2) and fourth in birdies (11) while Herring is tied with Harmon for 10th place in the tournament in par-5 scoring (4.38, -5).
Williams sits at 141 (-1) through two rounds thanks to a tournament-high 29 pars while Phillips (143, +1) ranks ninth in the field in par-4 scoring (3.89, -2). Hill's 147 (+5) completed UT Martin's participation on Day 1 of the event.
The Skyhawks are paired with Idaho, Bradley and SIUE for tomorrow's final round at 8 a.m. Harmon and Kueker will start their days on Hole No. 1 and are followed by Herring (No. 2), Williams (No. 3) and Phillips (No. 3). Hill will tee off on Hole No. 18 alongside counterparts from Tennessee State, Bradley and Morehead State.
