Skyhawks Notch Third-Place Finish At SIUE Dolenc Invitational

MADISON, Ill. – The third and final round of the SIUE Dolenc Invitational took place at Gateway National today as the University of Tennessee at Martin golf squad put a bow on yet another quality finish to start the 2026-27 season.
The Skyhawks shot a 292 (+8) today, putting the finishing touches on a third-place performance with an overall score of 841 (-11). That number trailed only Bradley (837, -15) and host SIUE (839, -13) in the 17-team standings as UT Martin tallied its third top-five tournament finish in as many tries this fall.
Overall, the Skyhawks led the tournament in eagles (four), pars (180) and fewest bogeys (39). UT Martin also ranked second in par-3 scoring (3.09, +7) and third in par-5 scoring (4.70, -18).
Grant Phillips' scorecard of 70 (-1) paced the Skyhawks in Round 3 as he produced one birdie and one eagle. Drew Williams (73, team-best two birdies), Regan Kueker (74, one eagle) and Bryce Harmon (75) concluded the team scoring with Lucas Herring (76) rounding out the UT Martin lineup.
A total of four Skyhawks finished in the top-25 of the 100-man field. Harmon and Kueker each finished 17th with scores of 211 (-2) as Kueker ranked first in the field in eagles (two), third in par-3 scoring (2.93, -1) and ninth in par-5 scoring (4.50, -6) to go along with a team-best 11 birdies. Herring and Phillips (team-best 3.96 par-4 scoring average) both placed 24th in the standings after carding even-par 213's.
Williams was one stroke behind with a final tally of 214 (+1), topping the entire tournament with 41 pars. Competing as an individual, Conner Hill shot a 77 with one birdie today to complete his tournament with a 224 (+11).
"I'm proud of our guys this week, especially our younger players," UT Martin head coach Austin Swafford said. "The final round was a good test that exposed a few weaknesses for us – we'll get better from it. Overall it was a nice week, finishing third in a large field with a few career-low rounds for multiple guys."
The Skyhawks are off next week before traveling to Kennesaw, Ga. for The Scrappy at Pinetree tournament on Monday, Oct. 12 through Tuesday, Oct. 13.
