MILLINGTON, Tenn. – This evening's baseball game between the University of Tennessee at Martin and Memphis at USA Stadium was cancelled.
The Skyhawks raced out to a 2-0 lead after the top of the first, as senior Creighton Eldridge cranked a two-run homer that plated Sean Dixson.
Memphis would even the score at 2-all but the game was cancelled soon thereafter due to a fan emergency.
The game was billed as the WS Babe Howard Classic, as these two squads have met in Millington in each season since 2015.
UT Martin will host Ohio Valley Conference foe Tennessee Tech this week (May 16-18), with Senior Day festivities set to take place prior to Saturday's contest.
