UT MARTIN BEACH VOLLEYBALL COMES UP JUST SHORT IN DOUBLE DUAL AT FLORIDA SOUTHERN COLLEGE

LAKELAND, Fla. –</strong> The University of Tennessee at Martin beach volleyball squad gave it their all today in a double dual at Florida Southern College but the host Moccasins snuck away with a pair of 3-2 wins.<br />
           <br />
Eight of the 10 Skyhawks who saw action racked up a win during the two matches today. Both matchups were knotted at 2-all before Florida Southern claimed the winner-take-all fifth point. In all, six of the nine matches were extended to three sets.<br />
           <br />
In the first match of the day, Brooke Gyori and Hannah Phillips dialed up a 21-16, 21-13 victory at No. 1 while UT Martin's No. 5 team of Addison Conley and Logan Wallick earned a 23-25, 21-8, 20-18 triumph.<br />
           <br />
Each of the other three matchups went into three sets as the Mocs claimed wins at No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4. Megan Fair and Justine Walker represented UT Martin at No. 2 but fell by an 18-21, 21-17, 15-12 margin. At No. 4, Lindsey Geurin and Jessica Reynolds were defeated 18-21, 21-16, 15-10 while Kenzie Hinshaw and Karen Scanlon were outlasted at No. 3 (22-20, 18-21, 18-15).<br />

The second match of the day started with an early Skyhawk deficit as Florida Southern won the No. 5 matchup due to a forfeit. Hinshaw and Scanlon joined forces at No. 2 to generate a 21-16, 21-19 victory while Fair and Walker dialed up an impressive 19-21, 21-11, 15-11 win at No. 3.<br />

Geurin and Reynolds were defeated 21-12, 21-7 at No. 4 while the tandem of Gyori/Phillips suffered a heartbreaking 21-17, 15-21, 15-10 loss at No. 1.<br />
           <br />
UT Martin is back at it on Wednesday, March 6 when it travels to Saint Leo for a double dual. The matches will take place at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.<br />
