
UTM BASEBALL SET TO HOST MOREHEAD STATE IN OVC SERIES

MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin baseball program hosts Ohio Valley Conference opponent Morehead State this weekend.
UT Martin (9-15, 2-7 OVC) is led by the run-producing trio of Casey Harford (.337 batting average and 12 RBIs), Jordan Stoner (.333 batting clip, two homers and 15 RBIs) and Blake Davis (.221 batting line, two long balls and 14 RBIs). Stoner's 31 total base knocks rank ninth among all OVC batters. The Skyhawks have been active on the base paths as they have swiped 17 bases so far on the season. Leading the pack stolen bases is Stoner with five while Creighton Eldridge has been a perfect 4-for-4 in attempts.
Right handed pitcher Austen Bullington (1-4, 5.06 ERA) will toe the rubber in Game 1 of the series. The Newburgh, Ind. native has logged 32 innings while he has fanned 20 opposing batters in that span. Lefty Sam Folks (3-1, 3.03 ERA) looks to get the Game 2 start. He paces the club in innings with 38.2 tossed on the season while having recorded 23 strikeouts along the way. Righty Winston Cannon (2-5, 4.72 ERA) will get the start in Game 3. He has averaged nearly one strikeout per inning as he has logged 34.1 innings of action with 34 whiffs during that time. Nick Wohlbold (0-1, 1.13 ERA) has been a key cog to the UT Martin bullpen as he has recorded 22 strikeouts in 16 innings pitched while having tallied four saves so far on the season. The closer has held opposing batsmen to a paltry .217 batting average.
Morehead State (17-8, 4-2 OVC) boasts three batters in the top-10 in the OVC in batting average as Hunter Fain (first, .429), Jake Hammon (second, .400) and Connor Pauly (ninth, .345) all swing a lively bat. Fain also ranks in the top-10 in both on base percentage (first, .582) and slugging percentage (second, .700). The duo of both Fain and Pauly have cranked five homers apiece while Pauly's 28 RBIs pace the club. A total of nine Eagles have recorded double-digit RBI numbers. Pauly has also been active in the stolen base department as he is a perfect 5-for-5.
