UT MARTIN RIFLE READY FOR FULL WEEKEND OF ACTION AT HOME AND AT WITHROW OPEN

MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin rifle team is set for an action-packed weekend as the Skyhawks host UAB on Saturday, Jan. 26 and Georgia Military College on Sunday, Jan. 27 before also participating in the Withrow Open in nearby Murray, Ky. on Sunday as well.
UT Martin returns to action for its spring slate of competition by hosting the Blazers in an NCAA matchup and a friendly against the Bulldogs. With a busy Sunday ahead, the Skyhawks will split the day at home against GMC and at Murray State for the regional matchup.
"It's going to a busy weekend for us," head coach MJ Vowell said. "This is our one home match of the year with UAB coming in on Saturday morning. Coach Goodwin is a great friend and we are all looking forward to welcoming her team. We have gotten a lot of range preparation done this week. On Sunday, we have our annual friendly match against Georgia Military College. Although they are not an NCAA Division-I program, we look forward to that matchup every year. While GMC is here, we will also be splitting time with going to the Withrow Open. Between Friday and Sunday evening, we are going to be rolling hot. All of the team is excited and has been doing well in their practices and getting ready for the OVC Championships."
The squad has been preparing over winter break to get ready for the hectic weekend which will provide UT Martin a final tune up before the Ohio Valley Conference Championships held in Jacksonville, Ala.
