RIFLE SKYHAWKS END FALL SCHEDULE ON HIGH NOTE, TALLY HIGHEST AGGREGATE OF SEASON

JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – The University of Tennessee at Martin rifle team wrapped up its final meet of the fall slate as the Skyhawks competed against Memphis, Nebraska, Jacksonville State, UAB and North Georgia and fired their highest aggregate of the season (4,603).

Rachel Sprague compiled new highs in both smallbore (586) and air rifle (589) while Abigail Donald notched a personal best in air rifle (577). Rachel Mills tied her smallbore high as she fired a score of 551.

Leading the way in smallbore was the squad of Sprague (586), Kaitlin Korinek (582), Celia Gelpey (557) and Donald (554) to give the Skyhawks a score of 2,279. Jacob Osborne (554), Kalen Royal (552), Mills (551) and Tristan Grisham (522) also compiled scores in smallbore.

Pacing the air rifle team was Korinek's score of 592 followed closely by Sprague's 589 and the duo of Donald (577) and Osborne (566) to compile a team mark of 2,324. Also firing in the discipline was Gelpey (563), Grisham (562), Mills (556) and Royal (552).

"We had a good weekend as we set another high for the team aggregate," head coach MJ Vowell said. "I asked the team to keep up the momentum from the last outing and they did just that. We had several student athletes tally personal bests and saw solid showing from our whole team. Now we have a break to get ready for the spring slate with a ton of momentum in our favor."

UT Martin will open the spring schedule of meets on Saturday, Jan. 26 when it hosts UAB at the Skyhawk Rifle Range.
