MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin equestrian team posted a dominant effort in equitation over fences today to lead the Skyhawks to their second win in as many days with a 6-3 triumph over Sweet Briar College.

UT Martin won all five points in the equitation over fences event, headed by an MOP effort out of Abbie Hopkins. The Skyhawks also collected one point in equitation on the flat, guided by Monika Zoromski's MOP performance.

Zoromski's 90-point ride in equitation on the flat was good enough for her first MOP honor of the season in that event. Lindsay Anderson earned a tie with 83 points while Hopkins' score of 88 was narrowly edged out by one point as Sweet Briar took a 3-1 lead after the first half of the competition.

However, UT Martin's scoring five in equitation over fences banded together to give the Skyhawks a commanding victory. Hopkins boasted MOP accolades after a score of 86 while Kelby Kane equaled a career-high with 84 points to earn a victory. Anderson's score of 82 points were good enough for a win while Brooke Pfeiffer (79) and Zoromski (75) completed the event sweep and helped secure the victory for UT Martin.

The Skyhawks' next competition is on Friday, Nov. 2 when they host No. 8 South Carolina. The action starts at 10 a.m. at the Ned McWherter Agricultural Pavilion.
