WACO, Texas – A total of 17 University of Tennessee at Martin student-athletes collected 29 National Collegiate Equestrian Association All-Academic and Honor Roll accolades today.
The Skyhawks boasted eight NCEA first team All-Academic recipients, four NCEA second team All-Academic honorees and 17 NCEA All-Academic Honor Roll scholars on the list released today. The NCEA began its All-Academic initiative to recognize student-athletes for their success both in the arena and in the classroom as riders must have maintained full-time enrollment in the previous spring and fall semesters, respectively, to earn a spot on the lists.
Representing UT Martin on the NCEA first team All-Academic list was Payton Bundy, Claire Carpenter, Kathleen DeGenova, Ruby Gunderson, Elise Mason, Kate Mills, Abby Tibbits and Olivia Wynn. This group must have competed in a minimum of 70 percent of their school's meets (not including demo or exhibition rides) and earned a cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.5.
