Kaitlin Korinek is in her first season as a student assistant for the Skyhawk rifle squad in 2020-21.
One of the program's all-time greats, Korinek wrapped up her illustrious UT Martin career last season with her seventh All-Ohio Valley Conference nod before being selected as an at-large participant in the NCAA Championships. She became only the sixth Skyhawk to qualify for an at-large berth into the NCAA Championships before the event was cancelled.
Korinek claimed All-OVC second team smallbore honors as a senior, following a junior campaign that saw her garner a spot on the All-OVC air rifle first team and the All-OVC smallbore second team. As a sophomore in 2017-18, she chalked up All-OVC second team accolades in smallbore. That came after she earned the title of OVC Freshman of the Year while winning All-OVC air rifle second team, OVC All-Newcomer smallbore and OVC All-Newcomer air rifle honors in 2016-17.
A native of Irwin, Pa., Korinek also excelled in the classroom during her time as a Skyhawk student-athlete. She was named a Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association Scholastic All-American on two different occasions and was a four-time OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll recipient.
Prior to her collegiate career, Korinek graduated from Penn-Trafford High School. She was a two-time qualifier for the National Junior Olympic Rifle Championships at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. She also won the bronze medal in the 2016 Pennsylvania Championships and placed sixth overall in the NRA Open Air Gun Championship.
Korinek is currently pursuing a bachelors degree in nursing from UT Martin.
