Skyhawks Begin Campaign At The Memphis Twilight Classic

MEMPHIS, Tenn.- The University of Tennessee at Martin cross country team opened its season late on Saturday night with seven personal bests during the Memphis Twilight Classic.

The men's and women's teams both finished in seventh place and nabbed four top-30 finishers.

On the women's side in the 5k, Danielle Mudd led UT Martin with a time of 18:42.58 (27^th) while Reese Settle placed 30^th after a finish of 18:46.07. In her collegiate debut, Kate Robinson earned a PR with a solid run of 19:15.76 while Annie Burns captured a new personal best from a time of 19:22.46. Charlotte Cones finished her sophomore debut with a time of 20:00.02.

The men's team competed in the four mile and every Skyhawk in the scoring five achieved a PR. Angus Monro paced the Skyhawks recording a 15^th place finish (20:02.98) and Will Douglas finished 25^th from a PR of 20:23.39. Keagan Enicks (33^rd) crossed the finish line at 20:31.07 and David Stukey (36^th) notched a personal best off a time of 20:38.74. Tristen Bough raced his way to a PR of 21:49.38.

UT Martin jumps back into action in the SIUE Cougar Cross Country Challenge on Friday, Sept. 18.
