Williams Voted Ohio Valley Conference Golfer of the Week

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Two days after securing the first victory of his University of Tennessee at Martin career, Drew Williams was named Ohio Valley Conference Golfer of the Week today.
This marks the second time that Williams has won this award as he also brought home OVC Golfer of the Week accolades on Nov. 7, 2025. Williams becomes only the 12th Skyhawk to win this honor multiple times in a career.
A junior from Greensboro, Ga., Williams passed his season-opening test with flying colors at the Golfweek Fall Challenge held at True Blue Golf Club in Pawleys Island, SC. He grabbed the tournament lead after Sunday's Round 1 with a 66 (-6) before posting a 73 (+1) during Monday's Round 2 and a 67 (-5) in Tuesday's final round. That clutch Round 3 performance leapt him six spots on the leaderboard and brought his cumulative score to a 206 (-10) – one stroke better than anybody else in the 86-man field.
Williams ranked amongst the tournament's best in par-3 scoring average (2.73, second), par-4 scoring average (3.96, fifth), birdies (15, fifth) and par-5 scoring average (4.67, 11th). His first collegiate medalist finish helped UT Martin notch a fifth-place finish in the stacked 16-team field.
For his career, Williams has displayed a 73.0 stroke average while playing in 62 out of a possible 68 rounds. The 2026 All-OVC second teamer now sports 25 rounds of par or better to go along with seven top-10 tournament finishes as a Skyhawk.
Williams will look to continue his hot start next week as UT Martin proudly hosts the Grover Page Classic on Sept. 14-15 at Jackson Country Club in Jackson, Tenn.
