BRENTWOOD, Tenn.- Following a stellar performance on the mound during Friday night's game at Southern Indiana, University of Tennessee at Martin baseball standout Jacob Sitton was named Ohio Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season.
The senior righty spun the first nine-inning complete game for the Skyhawks since 2024 and the third since 2022. He fanned six batters while surrendering just one run on five hits in the 10-1 victory over the Screaming Eagles. This marks the second complete game that he's thrown this season with the first coming in a seven-inning run-rule win over Bradley.
The Bradford, Tenn. native has compiled a strong senior season thus far by ranking in the league's top 10 in batters struck out looking (second, 15), strikeouts (fifth, 51), innings pitched (fifth, 60), earned run average (eighth, 3.60) and opposing batting average (ninth, .248).
He becomes the 20th UT Martin pitcher all-time to win the award and just the fourth Skyhawk in program history to earn the honor multiple times in one season joining Sam Folks (2021), Dalton Westfall (2017) and Coty Green (2010).
UT Martin begins its final four-game homestand of the year on Tuesday, April 21 at 5 p.m. when it hosts Belmont.
