Skyhawks Set To Host OVC Championships Saturday & Sunday

MARTIN, Tenn. – The 20^th-ranked University of Tennessee at Martin rifle team will host the 2026 Ohio Valley Conference Rifle Championships Feb. 7 and 8 at the Skyhawk Rifle Range in Martin. The event will feature the Skyhawks, 11^th-ranked Murray State and 17^th-ranked Morehead State.

UT Martin finished the regular season with averages of 2290.6 in smallbore, 2335.1 in air rifle and 4625.7 in aggregate. On Oct. 31, UT Martin set season-highs at Morehead State in air rifle and aggregate of 2343 and 4639. The following day, the Skyhawks set their season-high in smallbore, also at Morehead State, with a 2299.

Individually, sophomore transfer Sophia Ashford holds season-highs amongst active UTM shooters in all three categories with a 579 in smallbore, a 589 in air rifle and a 1167 in aggregate, while Rachel Haines and Olivia Harvey also set career-bests during the season. Ashford also has the Skyhawks' highest averages in all three categories with a 575.4 in smallbore, a 586.8 in air rifle and a 1162.2 in aggregate scoring.

Following the championship, UT Martin will close out the 2025-26 season with the annual NCAA Qualifier Feb. 21 at Murray State.
