
Skyhawks Fall In Regular-Season Finale To Tennessee State at Home

MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin women's basketball team dropped the final game of the 2025-26 regular season, 67-60, to Tennessee State Saturday at the Kathleen and Tom Elam Center in Martin.
The Skyhawks were cruising through the first half, shooting 52.9-percent from the floor and leading by five at the break, 34-29. However, in the third, the Lady Tigers went on a 21-0 run and outscored the Skyhawks, 21-8, in the quarter.
In the fourth, UT Martin trimmed a 10-point Tennessee State lead to just two with 1:16 to play on a 3-pointer from Brittani Wells. Despite the rally, the Skyhawks were outscored 5- over the final 35 seconds, to give the Tigers the win.
Kenley McCarn led UT Martin in the game with 19 points and eight rebounds, while going 8-for-9 at the free throw line. With her 19 points Saturday, McCarn became just the seventh player in UT Martin women's basketball to eclipse the 1,500-point mark. Brittani Wells added 12 points, with Cam Ward adding 11 and Grace Billington chipping in with eight rebounds.
The Skyhawks already know their first game in the 2026 Ohio Valley Conference Championship will be played Wednesday at 3 p.m., however, they are still waiting to see if they will be the sixth or seventh seed and who their opponent is.
