Skyhawks Earn Podium Finishes and School Records at OVC Indoor Championship

LOUISVILLE, Ky.- The University of Tennessee at Martin track and field team came home with some hardware after finishing on the podium several times at the Ohio Valley Conference Indoor Championships.

The men's team finished in sixth with 49 points while the women's team finished with 16 points.

Podium Finishes and Point Scorers

Luke Johnson started his Indoor Championships with a fourth-place finish (five points) in the 5k of 14:51.50.
The men's distance medley relay team of David Stukey, Khalid White, Angus Monro and Tristen Bough finished in first place on a school record time of 9:53.09.
The women's DMR team of Sophia Cahill, Meg Wiginton, Annie Burns and Reese Settle brought home two points with a seventh-place finish (12:26.16).
Maggie Roy landed on the podium after a time of 4:56.32 which helped her earn second place in the mile race.
Monro added on to his medal count when he finished in third in the mile race (4:12.18).
Stukey snagged five points in the mile competition after his time of 4:12.60.
White finished second on the podium in the 400m (47.14) for a new PR and school record.
Johnson crossed the finish line in third during the 3k on a time of 8:29.44 for a spot on the podium.
In the 3k, Monro placed fourth for five points for the Skyhawks.
Keagan Enicks grabbed three points in the 3k after he clocked a time of 8:33.27 (sixth).
Reese Settle tallied a point for the Orange and Blue in the 3k on her time of 10:09.74 (PR, 8^th).
The men's 4x400m team of Ja'Kobe Ward, White, Bough and Tanui snatched a point on an eighth-place finish of 3:29.31.
The women's 4x400m team of Morgan Mitchell, Eliana Oquendo, Leanna Rose and Wiginton added another point to the Skyhawks' total with a time of 3:54.85 (eighth).

School Records

White broke the school record twice in the 400m with his best time being 47.14
The DMR team of White, Monro, Stukey and Bough broke the school record with their OVC Championship winning time of 9:53.09.

UT Martin will now prepare for the outdoor season which begins at the Margaret Simmons Invitational in Murray, Ky. on March 20^th.
