MURRAY, Ky.- The University of Tennessee at Martin track and field team started the outdoor season on the right foot with multiple top-five finishes and several personal bests at the Margaret Simmons Invitational hosted by Murray State.

Notable Performers

Khalid White placed first in the 200m on a time of 21.62 while also finishing second in the 100m (10.75).
Elisha Lane earned fourth place from a leap of 6.80m (PR) in the long jump.
Tristen Bough crossed the finish line at 50.73 for fifth and a PR in the 400m competition.
Charlotte Cones notched a personal best in the 1500m off a time of 4:58.87 (seventh).
Reese Settle tallied a top-five finish garnering fourth place after a time of 4:50.90 (PR) in the 1500m.
Kayla Jackson's time in the 100m race of 12.75 seconds resulted in a new personal best.
Andy Westbrooks captured two top-five finishes and two PRs in the high jump (second, 1.96m) and the javelin throw (fourth, 53.13m).
Leanna Rose ran a solid time of 12.15 in the 100m that meant a new personal best and third place for the freshman.

The Skyhawks travel to St. Louis, Mo. next week for the WashU Distance Carnival (March 26-27) and the SLU Speed/Power Festival (March 27).
