Brittani Wells Named OVC Newcomer of the Week

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Junior Brittani Wells of the University of Tennessee at Martin women's basketball team has been named the OVC Newcomer of the Week, the league announced Tuesday morning.
Wells had a phenomenal week, averaging 15.0 points, 3.7 assists, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.7 steals per game over three games in six days. She also had the hot hand, shooting 60.0 percent (15-25) from the floor, a blistering 64.7 percent (11-17) from 3-point range, and was perfect at the free throw line at 4-for-4.
She scored 10 or more points in each of UT Martin's three games during the week. She posted a career-high 18 points against Southern Indiana and followed it up with 17 against Morehead State. In addition, the junior committed just four turnovers and had 11 assists for an assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.75.
With the final five games of the season upon them, the Skyhawks take to the road Thursday and Saturday, paying visits to Lindenwood and SIUE, respectively.
