
McCarn Named as TSWA Player of the Week

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Redshirt junior Kenley McCarn of the University of Tennessee at Martin women's basketball team has been named as the Tennessee Sports Writers Association Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the organization announced Tuesday.
McCarn set a career-high of 40 points against Lindenwood to average 27.5 points on the week, to go along with 6.5 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 3.0 assists. Against Lindenwood, the Melbourne, Arkansas native went 14-for-16 from the floor, 4-for-4 from 3-point range and 8-for-8 at the free throw line while adding three assists and a steal. In the game against SIUE, she scored 15 points, pulled down nine rebounds, had three assists, five steals, a block and was 5-for-6 at the free throw line.
She is just one of four Division I players since the 2002-03 season to score at least 40 points and shoot at least 87.5 percent from the field. The others include Utah Valley's Robyn Fairbanks in 2009, Idaho's Mikayla Ferenz in 2017 and Iowa State's Audi Crooks in the 2024 NCAA Tournament.
On the season, McCarn averages 17.1 points per game, which ranks as the fourth-best average in the OVC. She has scored double-digits in each of the Skyhawks' 17 games this season and scored 20-plus points on four occasions.
McCarn and the Skyhawks travel to Southeast Missouri Tuesday to take on the Redhawks at the Show-Me Center at 5:15 p.m.
