The University of Tennessee at Martin women's basketball team outscored Southern Indiana in the second half of Saturday's game at Liberty Arena in Evansville, but it was ultimately not enough as the Skyhawks fell to the Screaming Eagles, 52-43. UT Martin led, 9-8, after the first quarter, but Southern Indiana opened the second on a 14-0 run and eventually outscored the Skyhawks, 23-9, in the frame. UT Martin outscored the Screaming Eagles in both the third and fourth quarters, but it was not enough to close the gap, as USI held on for the nine-point win. Kenley McCarn led the Skyhawks in scoring and rebounding in the game with 17 points and eight rebounds. Brittani Wells added seven points and four rebounds, while Norah Clark chipped in with four points, five rebounds and three assists.
Kenley McCarn currently leads the Skyhawks with 15.6 points per game, while Zy Thompson and Sidni Middleton follow at 11.7 and 9.9, respectively. On the boards, Thompson leads UT Martin with 6.6 rebounds per game, while Brittani Wells leads in assists and steals at 4.1 and 2.2. As a team, the Skyhawks are averaging 66.9 points and 36.3 rebounds per game, while their opponents average 63.1 and 41.9.
