Racers Rally Past Skyhawks Thursday At Home

MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin soccer team scored first, but Murray State scored two unanswered to come from behind and top the Skyhawks, 2-1, Thursday night at Skyhawk Soccer Field in Martin.
Anna Østergaard Ibsen got the scoring started in the game when she clanged one in in the 11th minute, on assists from Peyton Cook and Addy McCleary, to give her team the early 1-0 lead. However, Murray State equalized in the 31st minute when Mary Hardy beat Skyhawk keeper Mac Titus, who finished the night with five saves, and put one in the back of the net. The 1-1 score held for most of the second half until the 81st minute when Kate Donoghue scored to seal the 2-1 win for the Racers.
Murray State had 20 shots in the match with seven on target, while UT Martin had seven total shots with four going on goal. The Racers also edged out the Skyhawks in corner kicks in the match, 6-5.
On Sunday, the Skyhawks return to action when they travel to 14th-ranked Memphis to take on the Tigers at 7 p.m.
