
After Win, Skyhawks Look To Build Momentum Against EIU Sunday

MARTIN, Tenn. – After a big win over Lindenwood Thursday, the University of Tennessee at Martin soccer team returns home to take on Eastern Illinois Sunday in a battle of the league's top team at Skyhawk Soccer Field at 2 p.m.
On Thursday, the Skyhawks rallied from a 2-1 halftime deficit to score three unanswered second-half goals and top Lindenwood, 4-2, for their first win of the season. Ava Huntrods scored first, Peyton Cook added a brace and Anna Østergaard Ibsen had the game-winner, as UT Martin doubled its scoring output on the season in the match.
Sunday will be the 31st all-time meeting between Eastern Illinois and the Skyhawks, with the series tied, 13-13-4. UT Martin is 6-1-3 in its last 10 matches with the Panthers and are 8-4-2 all-time at home against them. The Skyhawks have not lost to the Panthers at home since October 2, 2011, and have won or tied the last seven matches at Skyhawk Soccer Field.
League-leader Eastern Illinois is 2-0 in OVC play and coming off a dominating 4-0 win over Western Illinois Thursday. Alex Tetteh was unstoppable for the Panthers in the match as she scored each of her team's four goals.
