Early Goal Sends Panthers Past Skyhawks Sunday

MARTIN, Tenn. – A fourth-minute goal by Eastern Illinois' Alex Tetteh proved to be all the offense the Panthers needed as they defeated the University of Tennessee at Martin soccer team, 1-0, Sunday at Skyhawk Soccer Field in Martin.
The Skyhawks had plenty of chances in the games as they got off 16 shots and placed a season-high 10 on target. Unni Wolf let UTM with four shots and three on goal, while Alexandra Weihs had three total shots and two on target. In total, 11 different Skyhawks had shots in the match.
Despite the early goal, Mac Titus denied the Panthers any more goals over the next 86 minutes and ended the game with five saves.
The Skyhawks now have a bit of a break before returning to action next Sunday in Cape Girardeau when they take on Southeast Missouri at 2 p.m.
