MARTIN, Tenn. – The fun-filled SkyhawkPalooza will return for another year as the University of Tennessee at Martin athletic department will put on the event on Thursday, Sept. 11 in the parking lot of Hardy Graham Stadium. Admission is free as this event is sponsored by Skyhawk Athletics, the City of Martin, the Town and Gown Organization, Wendell Alexander Realty and Weakley Farmers Co-op.
SkyhawkPalooza registration begins at 5 p.m. as various food trucks will be set up. Fans can pick up their activity scavenger hunt card and meet Captain Skyhawk for a photo opportunity at the main tent, located in front of the football entrance gate. The first 200 kids to visit the registration tent who sign up for the Captain's Kid Club will receive a free t-shirt while supplies last.
Several UT Martin student-athletes will set up games and activities in tents spread out throughout the Graham Stadium parking lot. Activities such as face painting, pet the pony and inflatables that include a 35-foot giant slide, an 80-foot obstacle course, a jump house and a mini-slide will be on hand. Each tent will offer a specific stamp for the scavenger hunt card.
The Aviator Marching Band will make a grand entrance at 6 p.m., followed by UT Martin Chancellor Dr. Yancy Freeman addressing the crowd for an official welcome. A Squawk Talk segment with Skyhawk football broadcasters Davis Gregory and John Hatler will take place at 6:10 p.m. with a guest lineup that includes head football coach Jason Simpson and student-athletes.
Dave Evans, a famous balloon artist, will be on hand from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Giveaways – including season tickets – will be announced throughout the evening while a drawing for grand prizes from the scavenger hunt will be held at 7:15 p.m. Food trucks will be open until at least 7:30 p.m. or until they are sold out.
Fans can also check out the newest 2025 merchandise at the Skyhawk Team Shop, which will be located beside the registration tent.
