MARTIN, Tenn. – University of Tennessee at Martin head men's basketball coach Jeremy Shulman will reunite with one of his former players as incoming senior Luca Colceag has transferred to the Skyhawk program for 2025-26.
Colceag is a 6-9, 200-pound forward who played last season at Northern Colorado after spending the 2023-24 campaign at Eastern Florida State College under Shulman. Colceag also played his freshman season at Montana State.
"We are elated to have Luca join our program," Shulman said. "Obviously I am very familiar with his enhanced skillset and I know he will fit in seamlessly here at UT Martin. Luca is a bigtime shooter who can really create his shot and has been a part of conference championship squads in all three of his collegiate seasons."
A Bucharest, Romania native, Colceag appeared in 12 games last season under head coach Steve Smiley at Northern Colorado. The Bears had a historic season in 2024-25, winning the Big Sky Conference regular season championship and earning the program's first bid into the National Invitation Tournament. The squad went 25-10 overall for their second-most victories in school history and equaled the program record for league wins with 15 (against just three losses).
Colceag registered 45 points, 19 rebounds, 10 blocks, seven assists and a pair of steals in 126 minutes spread out over 12 games last season, shooting 40.6 percent (13-of-32) from three-point range.
