Arminas Vilkas Set To Join Skyhawk Men’s Hoops Signing Class

MARTIN, Tenn. – The 12th signee to the University of Tennessee at Martin men's basketball Class of 2026 is Arminas Vilkas, who is joining the Skyhawks out of Kaunas, Lithuania.
A 6-9, 215-pound forward, Vilkas played the 2025-26 campaign for head coach Gintaras Kadžiulis on the Lietuvos Rytas second team in the Lithuanian NKL – suiting up alongside current UT Martin signee Gabrielius Bubnys. Vilkas played 35 games and averaged 9.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.0 block per contest, shooting 59.1 percent (143-for-242) from the field. He reached double figures in the scoring column on 17 separate occasions, including a season-best 20 points (on 9-of-12 shooting) against Kedainiu SC on Dec. 20. He also racked up four double-doubles with his season-high of 12 rebounds coming against Alytus Alytus on Dec. 18. He also handed out a season-high seven assists against Kedainiu (Oct. 19) while tallying 10 multi-block performances (season-best four swats as part of a double-double against Zalgiris II on Dec. 6).
Vilkas was named Most Valuable Player of the 2025 NextGen EuroLeague qualifier tournament held in Munich, Germany. He averaged 9.8 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.8 blocks over four games and capped off the event with 16 points, 12 rebounds and five blocks in the finals against Valencia.
Vilkas has stood out in international club competition, averaging 14.0 points, 12.0 rebounds, 2.5 blocks and 1.5 assists while shooting 63 percent (10-for-16) in two games at the 2025 FIBA Next Gen Hoops Invitational held in Vilnius, Lithuania. That included a dominant 16-point, 18-rebound, four-block effort on 6-for-10 shooting against Grind Session on June 5. He also averaged 10.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.5 blocks over four games in the 2025 Youth Basketball Champions League event held in Manisa, Turkey, shooting 70.8 percent (17-of-24) in the tournament. This past January, he was part of the 2026 Avance Global Cup – an event held in Málaga, Spain that consisted of 10 teams from eight countries spanning five continents.
In the 2025 FIBA U18 EuroBasket tournament held in Belgrade, Serbia, Vilkas took part in five games for the Lithuanian National Team. His best game in the tournament came against North Macedonia on July 26 as he pumped in 12 points on a perfect 5-of-5 shooting performance in just 19 minutes. He also added tournament-highs of six rebounds and four assists against Sweden (July 31) and three blocks against Greece (July 28).
Vilkas also competed for Team Lithuania at the 2024 U18 EuroBasket event (seven games) held in Tampere, Finland as well as the 2024 FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup (five games in Istanbul, Turkey) and the 2023 FIBA U16 European Championship (seven games in Skopje, North Macedonia).
Last year, Vilkas was part of Team Next Gen at the 18th Annual adidas Eurocamp held in Treviso, Italy. He earned an invitation to the event that featured the top prospects between the ages of 16-22 from around the world.
Vilkas split time between Vilkaviskio Perlas, Lietuvos Rytas II and Next Generation Team Munich in 2024-25, playing in 50 games overall. He also played in four games for the Zalgiris II organization in the Dubai League during the 2023-24 season.
"Arminas is going to be such a great fit here at UT Martin," Skyhawk head coach Jeremy Shulman said. "He's a tall, versatile player who can dribble, pass, shoot and really defend. He is a high-feel playmaking forward."
Joining Vilkas in the 2026 UT Martin signing class is Reid Conley (Chattanooga, Tenn.), Armandas Bancevicius (Kaunas, Lithuania), Bubnys (Marijampolė, Lithuania), Nikola Janicic (Skopje, North Macedonia), Giorgi Sulaberidze (Kutaisi, Georgia), Davi Remagen (Köln, Germany), Nikas Stuknys (Panevėžys, Lithuania), Sasha Savkov (Moscow, Russia), Kaan Onat (Istanbul, Turkey), Mai Hong (Beijing, China) and Ousseynou Sambe (Dakar, Senegal). That exciting group is set to join a Skyhawk squad that tied for the most single-season victories (22) and ranked in the top-10 in NCAA Division I men's basketball in four separate statistical categories in 2025-26.
