
UT Martin Extends Winning Streak To Five After Completing Sweep Of Central Arkansas Tournament

CONWAY, Ark. – The University of Tennessee at Martin beach volleyball squad continued its winning ways today at the UCA Beach Invitational, knocking off tournament host Central Arkansas (3-2) and Texas A&M-Kingsville (4-1).
The Skyhawks improved to 18-8 on the season and have now won five straight decisions heading into next weekend's regular season finale.
UT Martin had three pairings go unbeaten on the day as the No. 2 Skyhawk pairing of Kayla Bryant/Olivia O'Keefe, No. 4 duo of Sydney Eckhardt/Reagan McGee and No. 5 tandem of Dylan Mott/Kylie Surratt each went 2-0.
Kicking off the day with an early morning matchup against the Bears, UT Martin was locked in a battle that included a trio of three-set decisions. Bryant/O'Keefe managed a come-from-behind 15-21, 21-10, 15-10 victory while Eckhardt/McGee (won 21-17, 21-16) and Mott/Surratt (won 21-14, 21-15) also took care of business. The Skyhawks forced third-set tiebreakers in the other two slots but Riley Rushing/Dylan Sulcer (21-10, 16-21, 15-13 at No. 1) and Lauren Mariscal/Jenna Vallée (21-12, 15-21, 15-13) narrowly fell.
In the second match of the day, Bryant/O'Keefe (21-11, 21-14 for their 21st triumph of the season) and Mott/Surratt (21-16, 21-13 to improve to 4-0 as a pair) scored straight-set victories. UT Martin overcame first-set deficits to tally comeback wins from Mariscal/Vallée (18-21, 23-21, 15-11, moving to 6-2 on the season) and Eckhardt/McGee (18-21, 21-18, 15-12, improving to 18-3 this spring). Rushing/Sulcer also represented the Skyhawks at the No. 1 position, falling 21-14, 21-17.
The Skyhawks round out the 2025 regular season at the OVC Weekend at Morehead State. UT Martin will compete against host Morehead State (9 a.m. CT) and Eastern Illinois (1 p.m. CT) on Friday, April 18 before turning around to face Lindenwood (7 a.m. CT) and Tennessee Tech (3 p.m. CT) on Saturday, April 19.
