
Skyhawk Golf Finishes Off Memphis Intercollegiate On High Note

CORDOVA, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin golf team closed out their participation in the Memphis Intercollegiate with its best round of the 54-hole tournament, turning in a scorecard of 299 (+11) today at the Colonial Country Club.
That score was 25 strokes better than the Skyhawks' Round 2 tally and a dozen-shot improvement from their opening round. UT Martin completed the tournament with a score of 934 (+70), ranking 11th in a highly competitive field.
Garrett Chumley shot even par (72) today to lead the Skyhawks, carding a pair of birdies in the process. Jackson Twerdahl and Luke Caldwell each posted 75's with one birdie apiece while Drew Williams earned UT Martin's final countable score with a 77. Ethan Ray (82, two birdies) was the fifth and final member of the Skyhawk scoring lineup today.
For the tournament, Twerdahl finished just outside the top 25 with a total score of 229 (+13) behind a team-best seven birdies. Caldwell shot a 231 (+15) and was followed by Chumley (236, +20), Williams (241, +25) and Ray (247, +31).
UT Martin stays in the state of Tennessee for its final stroke play tournament of the regular season, heading to Hermitage Golf Course in Old Hickory for the TSU Big Blue Intercollegiate on Monday, April 7 through Tuesday, April 8.
