
Skyhawks Soar With Multiple First-Place Finishes At Rhodes Invitational

MEMPHIS, Tenn.- The University of Tennessee at Martin track and field team broke out in a big way to start the outdoor season with four first-place finishes and a plethora of personal records at the Rhodes Invitational.

The Skyhawks will prepare next for the Margaret Simmons Invitational which will take place from March 21-22.

Top Performers
- Hank Fisher totaled three new school records in three different events. The Milan, Tenn. native finished first and set a program-best in shot put (13.86m) while breaking the school records in javelin (48.84m) and discus (38.83m). The previous discus and javelin records stood for 26 years.
- The women's 4x100 team of Kayla Jackson, Eliana Oquendo, Holly Henderson and Meg Wiginton raced their way to a first-place finish with a time of 49.84 seconds.
- The men's 4x100 group of Chadwick Stewart, Samir Smith, Elisha Lane and Khalid White landed in first-place from a time of 42.01.
- Oquendo ran a PR of 12.54 on her way to the top of the podium in the 100m race.
- Wiginton established a new PR in the javelin throw with a toss of 29.74m
The Skyhawks will prepare next for the Margaret Simmons Invitational which will take place from March 21-22.
