UTM vs. WIU: UTM lead 4-1
- The University of Tennessee at Martin women's basketball team kept Thursday night's game against Lindenwood close for the entire game but could never close the gap, as it fell, 62-59.
 - Lindenwood led for over 36 minutes Thursday night, but never led by more than 10 points. The Skyhawks cut lead to four with just over two minutes left and again with 23 seconds remaining, then to three with 7.6 second remaining. With 0.3 second left on the clock, Daejah Richmond drained a jumper to cut the lead to three again, but ultimately it was not enough.
 - UT Martin struggled from the floor in the in game, shooting just 29.8-percent, and from 3-point range, where they shot 23.1-percent. Meanwhile, the Lions shot 43.6-percent from the floor and 26.3-percent from 3-point range. The Skyhawks were also outworked on the glass Thursday, where they were outrebounded, 43-30, with just five of the 30 coming on the offensive side of the ball.
 - Anaya Brown led all scorers in the game with 20 points, while Kenley McCarn followed with 18 of her own.
 - After beating previously OVC undefeated Eastern Illinois last weekend, Western Illinois suffered a setback of its own Thursday, falling 70-66, to Tennessee State in Nashville. The lost put an end to a three-game win streak by the Leathernecks. Raegan McCowan currently leads both her team and the OVC in scoring at 21.3 points per game, which is also currently the 11th highest average in the nation. She is also third in the league in rebounding with a team-high 8.1 boards per game.
 - The Skyhawk's 73-60 win over Western Illinois in Macomb in January extended their all-time lead over the Leathernecks to 4-1. UT Martin is now 2-1 against Western Illinois since the Leathernecks made the move to the OVC and are 2-0 against them in games played in Martin.
 - After Anaya Brown became the 18th member of UT Martin's 1,000-point club on January 30, the 19th member does not appear to be far behind. Currently sitting at 917 career points, Kenley McCarn needs just 83 points to reach the historic milestone. If she completes the task before the end of the season, she will become just the fourth sophomore in program history to join the exclusive club, along with Heather Butler, Jasmine Newsome and Ashia Jones.
 - With six made 3-pointers against Lindenwood, UT Martin has now made at least one 3-pointer in 505 consecutive games. The current streak dates back to Feb. 3, 2009, against Austin Peay and currently, ranks seventh nationally.
