- Despite a fourth quarter comeback attempt by Little Rock, the University of Tennessee at Martin women's basketball team held on for a big OVC road win over the Trojans Saturday, 64-59, at the Jack Stephens Center in Little Rock.
- UT Martin led for over 33 minutes of Saturday's contest and were up by as many as 10 in the game. However, the Trojans were able to tie the game on three separate occasions in the fourth quarter, with the last coming at the three-minute mark. Despite the pressure, the Skyhawks were able to buckle down and go 8-for-10 from the free throw line in the final minutes of the game to keep the Trojans at bay and hold on for the five-point win.
- The Skyhawks pounded the paint in the contest, scoring 38 of their 64 points in or around the basket. UT Martin also outrebounded Little Rock in the game, 33-30, moving to 6-1 on the year when it pulls down more boards than its opponents.
- Kenley McCarn led all scorers in the game with 23 points, while Shae Littleford and Anaya Brown followed with 14 and 13, respectively. Lexi Rubel led the Skyhawks on the glass with nine, while Shae Littleford added six steals to the cause.
- With her first starts since November last week, Daejah Richmond made the most of them by averaging 13.0 points over two wins. Richmond scored nine at Southeast Missouri, then on Saturday she notched the first double-double of her career by scoring 15 points and pulling down a career-high 10 rebounds. She also averaged 2.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game on the week.
- Winners of its last five games in a row, Lindenwood enters Thursday's contest at 14-7 overall and 10-2 in the OVC, which is currently tied for the best record in the league. Ellie Bruggeman leads Lindenwood in scoring on the season at 11.7 points per game, while Brooke Coffey leads on the glass at 6.6 rebounds per game. The Lions currently average 68.3 points on 43.6-percent shooting, while their opponents shoot 41.3-percent from the floor and average 65.3 points per game.
- With a 79-73 win over the Skyhawks, Lindenwood now leads the all-time series with UT Martin, 3-1. Thursday will be just the second trip to the Elam Center for the Lions with their last trip resulting in a 73-68 win for Lindenwood on Jan. 27, 2024.
- With one made 3-pointers against Little Rocks, UT Martin has now made at least one 3-pointer in 504 consecutive games. The current streak dates back to Feb. 3, 2009, against Austin Peay and currently, ranks seventh nationally.
- Not only did Saturday's win over Little Rock mark just the third time this season that the Skyhawks had won back-to-back games, but it also marked their first win of the season when wearing their navy jerseys. Prior to Saturday, UT Martin was 0-6 on the year when wearing navy. The Skyhawks are now 1-6 when they wear navy, 4-7 when they wear white and 4-1 when they wear orange.
